West Island is a granite knoll situated 1km west of the Bluff near Victor Harbor. The surrounding waters are an aquatic reserve protecting the resident marine organisms for long term research. The southern side of the island is exposed to the full force of the Southern Ocean.

How to get there.
There is restricted access to the island. Enquire about visiting at the DEH office 41 Victoria Rd., Victor Harbor.
Gulls and Terns breed here and there is a fluctuating population of Fairy Penguins.
