The northern entrance is 5.5 km. south of Ashbourne on the right with the southern entrance a further 2 kms along the road to Goolwa, which runs along the eastern boundary of the park. On the western side the Cole Crossing area can be accessed from Nangkita Rd and Ridge Rd.
Much of the vegetation is low stringybark and banksia with a dense understorey, where not burnt out by bushfires, with some larger trees in the north eastern corner and north west area at Cole Crossing.
